MISSION AND HISTORY
FOCIS is an organization whose efforts benefit families by providing a comprehensive list of services that address the urgent & habitual problems which affect our communities.
In 2001, community leader, Richard Salazar decided to start an organization dedicated to serving the community.
Family Outreach and Community Intervention Services, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides many valuable services to Southern California communities through comprehensive counseling, violence education and intervention services, youth and adult addiction recovery, and many other specialized services.
FOCIS Stands for:
Family: To provide families with the tools necessary to create a structured environment in the home, a solid future plan for the family, and problem solving skills
Outreach: To connect our ideas and practices to those communities in need of our assistance by providing awareness of our services and engaging with underserved populations
Community: To empower individuals and families through social awareness and community involvement providing them with the skills they need to effect change in their own communities
Intervention: To partner with families, schools, law enforcing authorities and other community organizations to connect teens and families with the resources to achieve their dreams and goals, overcome barriers to opportunities, and become effective community members
Services: To provide awareness, activism, and culturally competent services through comprehensive care, intensive case management, coordination of program services, and support
